Today we drove about 3 hours up (62 miles) to see Ca Hpeu and his family, as well as what he is doing there in the village. It was good to be able to learn so much more about this dear family. We spent about 2 hour there before heading back. It was a long day, even though it was short.
Today we drove up to Mae Sai, where we came to the Burma border, then down to the Golden Triangle, where Thailand meets Burma and Laos.
Rob and I took a bus up to Chiang Rai. We got to the station at 11:30, but the next available bus was at 3:00 pm. So we waited here for 3 hours for a 3 hour bus ride.
Today we started teaching through By This Name. While it started out well, at the end of the day we ended up w/ about 25% of those that started! No worries, we actually wanted a smaller group, of people who are serious about reaching those around them. Looking forward to tomorrow!
Spent the day going over some of the problems that we have w/ the translation, and figuring out how to get books printed then marked for those leading the study. Getting 25 copies printed the day before is not how we usually like to work, but this time it seems to be working out ok (so far!)
In getting ready, we were able to get out a little, and a visit to the Buddha’s university for a little Monk Chat.
Had a team meeting in the morning, met with the translators / checkers for lunch, then to a temple on a mountain ridge, back down for the dentist, then up again for dinner…
Traveling pictures are not that glamorous, but helps keep things in perspective!
Today we went to church with Amos and Jen. Lunch, filming in the afternoon, then Robert and I went to supper with our hosts—James and Mon Bin.
Went to the Botanical Gardens in the morning, but didn’t feel that well. So I took the MRT home, and slept for 5 hours! Then to Amos and Jen’s for supper!
