"Entire Network" icon missing - Windows XP

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Just had to post this, as it was driving me crazy. I usually change the view settings in Windows Explorer, and I guess I checked off one too many! Most people won’t have this issue, but it does help. I don’t know how this got changed, as I don’t usually go here. Typically, I change things in Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View, and I didn’t see this option there. But for some reason, it also resets my Appearance.

To restore the “Entire Network” icons:

Go to System Properties (Control Panel / System)
Select: Advanced tab.
Click on “Settings” under “Performance.”
Scroll down to the bottom of the list of check boxes, and un-check the third one from the bottom “Use common tasks and folders”.

Back to the main page.
