No pictures this month - handed the camera off to John to take to Europe. Maybe next month (or if I get the film out again - which isn't too likely!)

Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004

Ran sound at church this morning - had a handful… 6 people on vocals, 3 guitars, 2 drums and a piano. All in all I used up 18 channels with everything else (CD, cordless for pastor, etc.)

Had lunch w/ the Kary's and Crosses, then slept, and went to the evening service. Vern Durksen sang and Gorden Forbes gave a message on Eph 1:1-14 which was good.

Shopping - $76 at Co-op. See how long that lasts.

Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004

Rendered a couple animations on 5 computers this morning, which only took about 1.5 hours for each. I was able to sign off sections 14-3 and 14-5. Brings the total up to 23 (of 51)!

Went to town, picked up 11 cases of Beginning With Moses booklets.

Supper at Janice's tonight, then came back to band / wrap two pallets to be shipped to the UK.

Friday, Feb. 6, 2004

Got section 2-1 ready for John to look at, though it'll probably wait a few weeks till he gets back from Turkey.

Shipped out 2 skids of books to GoodSeed UK today - went and borrowed the tractor from next door and loaded them on the road. Worked like a charm.

Heads up - gave John the digital camera to take with him to Turkey, so I won't have that for the next 4 weeks. But will probably put some of his pictures up when he gets back.

Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004

Spent the day scanning in the rest of my pictures from Israel, and will probably put them on the web sometime. Have been debating of making that my photo album instead of these 3-ring binders. Will have to give that some thought - and see if the time involved is to substantial. With that, seems the best would be a database approach, so a person can search and not have to look at everything as you would in a book. There's got to be some software out there for this...

Also spent part of the day learning more about HTML and that stuff.

Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004

Bevan spoke in Sunday School about 1 Thes 4 - basically dealing w/ obedience -or- having a good testimony.
Brent spoke on Titus 2, also majoring on having a good testimony.

Went to Bob Evans' for dinner (no, not the restaurant—) and spent the afternoon hanging out w/ them. Rod and Beth were there for dinner, then had to take of to speak at a church in SK. Adam and Ashley stayed w/ Grandma and Grandpa.

The youth lead in singing in the evening, and what Melissa had to share was good stuff - living a life that counts in the day of seeing the Lord. (Several of the youth got up to share a bit, and Andy spoke on Jn 8:19 / Jn 14:6-10.)

Chapter 2, Section 2 ready for John to have a look.

Chapter 3-1 has footage missing (iron ore mining) for which am trying to track down some stock footage.

For supper went to the Beat Graff's - first time over to his place. I will be staying there as they go to Chicago over the weekend.

Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004

Chapter 3-1 ready, except for the missing footage. I need some dynamite, some more iron ore machinery, and some of paint manufacturing.

Chapter 3-2 done, except for the wrap-up at the end. Interesting section, had to pull shots of dogs and re-edit the food section. But it did come together quite nicely after some juggling.

Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004

Chapter 3-2 done as best as I can get it for now. The audio is hot is some spots and that is hard to fix (without re-shooting!)

Spent some time on the website today as well. www.photofound.com and finished scanning in the 25 rolls of film that Andrew and I shot when we were in Israel. Perhaps someday I'll get some online. There are some already if you haven't seen them yet. Click here.
Laundry in the evening. While I waited I put up 31 pictures from 1988. See—

Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004

Chapter 3-3 is ready to be proofed.

Spent some time figuring out Photoshop's Automate Batch process - which was interesting. In the end I ran 600 Israel images through it— resized them, and inserted my copyright - all in about 30 minutes or so. This would have taken a full day by hand I would think.

Also went down to see if I could gather some video footage of some guys building a house. Might go down tomorrow afternoon and have another gander (they only had a few walls up yesterday.)

Had quite the time getting the color right on one camera angle. What would look good on the computer didn't look good on the TV monitor (after a half-hour render!) Finally got something that was acceptable, but too late to do anything with it. Tomorrow.

Quick link to the PDF of the progress.

Friday, Feb. 13, 2004

Chapter 4-1 is ready to be proofed. This is the first of 3 sections with major color correcting on some footage.

Shot Rod building a house - video footage for 3-1.

Also sent a fax to Cloverdale Paint (Edmonton) to seed permission to film 9 seconds of video at their plant sometime.

Spent the night at Graff's - and will be there till Sunday night while Beat & Clivia are gone to Chicago.

Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004-Valentine's Day

Was at the Graf's - and worked on the website. Put up all the pictures for Israel (well, about 390 of them.) Here's a quick link to get you started if you want, but I'll build an interface to these sometime in the future. Click Here to get started.

Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004

Church at First Baptist Olds - Sunday school was 1 Thes 4 - end of the chapter talking about the rapture.

Brent spoke on Titus 2 / 3 - a good message on positional truths.

Elias, Jonathon and I went to Boston Pizza, then we went home. Played cards and then we took Elias to school to go on his ski trip.

The Graf's made it home early, so I went to the Cross' for the evening. Sure is nice to get a fire going and veg in front of it!

Monday, Feb. 16, 2004 - Family Day

Worked on 04-2- primarily working on the audio, but didn't finish.

Spent part of the day figuring out what to do - if I should attempt building a website for someone else for profit or not.

Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004

Finished 04-2, fixed audio for 04-3.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004

Basically took the day to prepare for and run sound for the funeral. (Hazel Rockwell) It was a relatively simple ceremony - only one solo, and the pulpit mic is all that was needed. But I had to mic the organ and they had a bagpipe play, so I added a mic back by the soundbooth and recorded the ambient sound.

We had to re-work the Powerpoint presentation, which is what took the morning.

Everything seemed to go without a hitch, and that was an answer to prayer. I ran the Powerpoint, which I really do not like to do, but this was relatively easy.

I don't know what it was, but I was totally beat when it was over and packed up - (3:30). I went home and slept for a hour or so, and didn't get much of anything done at the office after that (save burn 3 CD's for them of the audio from the ceremony.)

Chapter 4-3 ready...

Tom Leger came up and stopped in on his way to Edmonton. It was good spending some time w/ him - and was able to share some SARS. Wasn't bad, but I liked my A&W Root Beer better.

Friday, Feb. 20, 2004

Finally got the Mackie HR624 speaker back. $150 for giving it a static shock. Oh, well, at least learned something through the process. What a difference it made having 2 of these again. Very nice sounding monitors if I do say so myself. Still would like to get the subwoofer for it, but it's only another $1,200 yet.

Also printed a Large Print edition of the Teachers Guide for Paul -

Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004

Worked at the office, primarily on audio for Chapter 4-4. It's a tough section, trying to keep the audio smooth and consistent throughout the section. About half is filmed 3 years after the initial recording, so it does sound / look a little different.

Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004

One more Sunday to go for February - 5 in this month this year!

In Sunday School, we talked about the rapture again - 1 Thes 5:1-11. And Brent spoke on John 10 - Jesus is the Gate. We were supposed to have some CBM missionaries from Indonesia, but they didn't show up for some reason. Hope everything is ok w/ them.

Came home, made lunch, and crashed on the couch for 2 hours. Listened to Charlie's lesson 31 (geology and the flood) then went to church for the evening service. It was a video on El Salvador, and one church there that went through the civil war. It did raise a lot of questions as to what we can be doing here in our own community to live the life we are supposed to live.

The video was good, but at the end I thought I would send whoever filmed it money so they could buy a tripod. Sorry - it did bug me (along with the framing.)

Tom is staying the night, he's coming down from MissionFest Edmonton tonight. I hope it's not too late - for his sake and mine. I'm ready to sack out now, and it's only 9:30.

Monday, Feb. 23, 2004

Hoar frost this morning - so in 90 days it's going to rain. (May 23)

Worked on the Man's Limited Knowledge chart - personal project this AM - before Tom came and got all his stuff to go back home. He left at 7:30 AM. I'll get it up once I get the right credits to go with it.

Chapter 04-4 ready... whew!

Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004

Got a haircut today - $12.84. The second haircut I had to pay for in my life. See how long that lasts…

Chapter 05-1 ready - another killer section! Color correction was bad in this, newer equipment would help out here :() I went over it (and changed everything) at least 3 times, and may need some tweaking after a fresh look in another day.

Captured the audio for Chapter 05-2 - over 2 hours worth, so it was!

Also, the server was finally set up, and we'll be working with that in the days to come!

Wednesday, Feb 25, 2004

Fixed the audio for 05-2, and worked the day on it. Not a small section - 26 minutes - and a lot of re-work in here. Color matching and audio were constantly being tweaked.

Thursday, Feb 26, 2004

Quite foggy this morning - 90 days from now it'll rain! (May 26)

Finished 05-2, and started in on 05-3 (Noah and the flood.)

Laundry too in the evening - and very foggy - probably less than 1/2 mile visibility.

Got krazycheck.com up tonight - couple days to get everything running as it should but finally! I have been keeping my site at krajec.org, but this is the first to get my website on my own domain. Sure is a good feeling! Tomorrow: hopefully get photofound.com going on it's own place. Then - need some time to configure things to be able to sell photos.

Friday, Feb 27, 2004

Fog is thick again today. Couldn't see the next telephone pole! See if it rains on (May 27). Fog continued all day - which is not common here.

Today was a day of distractions! I was able to work on the video off and on, but answering emails / messages and all - it's hard to keep focus. And some times that's good, because you can only listen to the video for so long in any given moment as it is (it's hard to discern the quality of audio after a given time- you don't know if it sounds good or not, and if it doesn't - you don't know how to fix it!)

Fog at night too -

John Friesen came down to take a 2 day course at the college - and spent the night at Cross' where I'm house-sitting. Watched The Pirates of the Caribbean.

Saturday, Feb 28, 2004

Again, thick fog in the morning. Rain (May 28)

Worked some on www.krazycheck.com - need to figure out how to get the form mail to work, but might sit on it for a while. I put a temp fix on there for now.

Finished 05-3 without too much work. Have been scanning in slides for my first SUMMIT trip to Papua New Guinea - might put them up sometime for grins.

Sunday, Feb 29, 2004 - Leap Day!

Was able to sleep in today - 7:30 - it was great! Allen ran sound, his last day for the month (obvioulsy!)

Bevan spoke on 1 Thes 5:12-28. Sure is a good read.

Brent spoke on an introduction to the next 5 (?) weeks' messages. Doing all for the Glory of God is the main theme, and we'll see how things develop from that :)

Went home (Cross' house still) and had a good sleep.

Sunday Night was prayer for the Children's Education (CE) ministries in the church.
